Interior Design Today (Published: July 2012)

Decorex International, one of the most eagerly anticipated UK design and interior shows, is this year celebrating its 35th anniversary. To mark the occasion, Decorex will be looking back at the show’s heritage, exploring the exceptional design journey from its conception through to the present day, honouring iconic moments, key design pieces and the inspiring people and influences the industry has harnessed. Each year a well-known designer is asked to design the entrance to the show. This year, Dame Vivienne Westwood joins a stellar line up of some of the most celebrated names in the industry who, over the years, have created their own inimitable and show stopping entrances.

Vivienne Westwood has worked with a number of leading international design companies, developing a wallpaper range to a collection of rugs and cushions for Decorex exhibitor The Rug Company. Other highlights include the champagne bar, which this year is being designed by renowned architect and interior designer Rabih Hage, which promises to be a design full of humour, along with a colour scheme that will be champagne inspired. Awardwinning internationally renowned designer Christopher Guy will be creating a show feature, inspired by Decorex’s show theme for 2012. Christopher Guy has an eye for detail, a passion for design and an ability to capture and reflect a distinctively classic yet contemporary mood.

They will be showcasing a selection of pleated contemporary stretch tailored lampshades in a range of sizes, colours and finishes. British furniture, lighting and accessory design company Ochre return to Decorex this year showcasing their sophisticated design and style. Expect to see sumptuous upholstered sofas, and a new collection of furniture that is sleek and sexy, including a sparkling new Seed Cloud installation suspended over a table and Damsel Fly lights hovering over the walls.
